Weekend Results - 22/23 April 2017
Another busy weekend for our athletes in pink, with representation at the Loskop Ultra and Half Marathons on Saturday, and some heading out to tackle the Robor Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday. Just to ensure some multi-tasking, we also had representation in the Trinity Sports Triathlon #4 held in Germiston on Sunday.
The full set of results for Loskop is in the attachment, but I need to highlight a few results. Our resident running robot, Dawood Cassim, followed up a sub-4h30 at Two Oceans with a fantastic 03h58 to lead the pink team home. A special mention to Lambda Chetse who ran a great time of 05h14. What makes this so special is that he took a hour off his previous best time at this event. Awesome running Lambda.
The Robor Marathon (previously Slo-Mag) took place on the East Rand. Unfortunately I do not have a full set of results available. Some of the highlights are a marathon PB of 03h28 for Alister Knight, and a solid 03h52 for Edmund du Toit. In the Half Marathon our resident coach Laurie Lewis ran a 01h51, so someone must have been chasing him for him to break from his traditional 6:00 min/km race training pace.
On the multi-sport front, congratulations to Aaron Raath who achieved a PB for the standard triathlon and finished in 27th place overall.
